Marc-Alan Barnette - "Less Is More" from Adam Shephard on Vimeo. Our second music video - this time for Marc-Alan Barnette's recording of "Less Is More" has been released. This is an in-studio video of Marc-Alan Barnette's latest single, "Less Is More". Marc-Alan has written hits for Shelby Lynne, John Berry and David Ball including Ball's single Too Much Blood in My Alcohol Level. Featured on the set is Motown "Funk Brother" Bob Babbitt. Bob provided the bass tracks on some of the greatest records in American muisc, including "Midnight Train To Georgia", "Tears Of A Clown", "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" and "Mercy, Mercy, Me". You can find out more about Bob at his site:
Also featured on the session are guitarist Danny Parks, drummer Tommy Wells, backup vocalists Vickie Carrico and Dana McVicker and keyboardist/producer Jay Vern.

Here's
a picture from our recent video shoot with Marc-Alan Barnette in
Nashville.
For the session, Marc brought on none other than Bob Babbitt, the man behind the bass lines for such classics as “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)”, "Midnight Train To Georgia", “Mercy Mercy Me” and a gazillion other greats hits from the 60s' 70s and 80s. Working with the great group of musicians at Jay's Place is always a treat and adding Mr. Babbitt to that list of people was a chance of a lifetime. Our friend Tina Swanson sent us this picture of Bob
showing us the bass
that he used on all those great hits. What an honor.

Filmwurks will be in central Kentucky over Labor Day weekend
documenting
"Love's Labor Jam", an industry event that brings together industry
giants and up-and-coming acts from the Nashville scene. We were fortunate enough to be asked to cover this event after the music video we shot for "Can't Go Back Home" (the single from our film "Goss Acres") was noticed by the organizer's of the event. You can see that video at www.25north.net/projects. Also, Post Magazine has asked us to blog about our work at the event. As soon as the first entry is posted, we'll let everyone know how they can follow along during the shooting and the post processes. |
