25 North Filmwurks is an Independent Film group in the Northwestern section of Indiana. As filmmakers, we believe that certain criteria should be met so that all actors and crew can reach an ultimate level of satisfaction while working in the Microcinema movement. To help meet those criteria, we have set up the following conditions for 25 North filmmakers: * Actors will be compensated for gas and provided meals. Actors will be paid an agreed upon amount for their services. No deferment concerns – payment will be made on the day of performance. These are non-union jobs. * Actors will be provided scripts in advance for any and all parts. * Actors will be allowed to view footage (instant feedback) and provide input on their performance. All video will be processed and edited following the shoots - we rough edit as we go. Actors and crew will be supplied copies of your performance for their reels. * No surprise scheduling. Shoot dates will be scheduled in advance to provide ample time for planning. No last minute calls expecting people to show up the next day! * All parties must have e-mail and be good communicators. This is a critical part of film success - honest communication, both ways. * All parties must live in Indiana in an area roughly defined by a section west of US 31 and north of State Road 32. 25 North is self-contained and self-funded. We have all services within the group - cameras, sound recording, lighting, editing, writing, scripting, etc. - that means no outside services to delay or halt production. Our films will be developed for festival audiences. Microcinema does not get distribution with huge paybacks so our goal is to get exposure from higher prospect festivals. Our main interests are original drama, suspense, comedy and action. Local productions are a springboard and a very necessary part of developing skills. Those who feel so compelled may go the distance and do the hard work of leaving their roots and seeking bigger challenges and projects, but it all starts at home. It is a natural part of development for an actor who works hard to improve all the aspects of their talent and style.
